We Are Indeed Thankful

We are pleased to share with our donors that today we exceeded our goal of raising $250,000 in commitments to help build our new elementary school. We thank you for your support and belief in COHH. The funds we have raised have been matched 100% to bring our total funds to over $500,000! We thank our benefactor for making the matching funds available even before we achieved our goal. Moreover, the first building of our four building complex has been completed and is currently occupied by grades 4-6. The building was completed by the Building Goodness Foundation (and their volunteers) on time and under budget. We are also excited for Steve Davis, our architect, for his award-winning design. There is no other like it in all of Haiti.

While we have much to celebrate, there are many challenges ahead. Construction will soon start on the second building. While we have adequate funds to start construction, we must raise the funds needed to complete the building by the beginning of the next school year in September. Many of our donors have given several times in support of our efforts and others have enrolled in regular monthly support. We are very grateful for their ongoing support of COHH. However, we need to expand our donor base to raise the funds necessary to complete the school. The total cost will be about $1 million. We are half way there, but it is likely the second half will be more challenging than the first half. We need more benefactors who are willing to provide matching funds to incentivize other donors to give generously. We invite you to join us on a very long and rewarding journey of hope for those who are without hope for their future.

We have been blessed in more ways than we can count and certainly in more ways than we will ever know. We extend our thanks first and formost to God for his abundant blessings upon COHH family (children, staff, caregivers and Board), our volunteers, our partners and our our donors, the collective efforts of whom allows us to celebrate a very bright spot in our twelve years of existence.
