The Altos = COHH Ambassadors
Linda Alto and her daughter, Mia, visited the COHH site in Hinche, Haiti in October 2017 where they witnessed the dedication of a new classroom building in honor of a beloved teacher, Marie Cham Baro, and made some new friends [See January 12, 2018 Blog- A Different Kind of Vacation]. Linda and Mia returned home determined to share their experience in Haiti with family and friends and invite them to help. The Alto family became COHH Ambassadors - encouraging others in their community to support their new friends in Haiti. Last Saturday was one more example of not only their efforts, but also that of friends in their community:
"Dear James and Julie - We just had the most fantastic day ever - pictures below!! Beautiful weather, some fantastic supporters, and some beautiful volunteers, and many clean cars! We raised 500.00 in cash!! Mia wants to do it again, I can’t walk right now, but we learned so much about running car washes in Norwood and can do an even bigger scale next time. We are so grateful for such a wonderful day and can’t wait to celebrate at the gala in November!!" "One more update....we had some friend donate another 220!!
We could not be more elated with the self-less dedication of Robert, Linda and Mia Alto and their band of volunteers - Katherine Flynn, Kat Devaney, Ally Noriega, Maggie Carr, Gabriella Bachiochi, Katherine Keefe and Lucy Stefani. We are also grateful for the many people in the Norwood, Massachusetts community who gave generously to have their cars washed for the benefit of COHH.
Fundraising is not easy and often comes with disappointment. We join with our ambassadors in Norwood in thanking the volunteers and the Norwood community for their support of COHH. You are awesome!!!
