New COHH Board Member
COHH Welcomes Steven Kirkpatrick

Center of Hope (Haiti), Inc. is pleased to announce that Stephen Kirkpatrick has been elected to its Board of Directors. "Steven has been a part of the COHH family for over 15 years” said James L. Lipscomb, a founder o f COHH and Chair of the Advisory Board. “Steven has been to Haiti on many occasions and is familiar with our operations in Haiti.” said Julie Atkinson, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Center of Hope (Haiti), Inc. “He knows our team and our challenges. We are delighted that he will be joining us.” “I am excited about officially joining the team at COHH. It is a unique organization focused on providing an education for children of severe poverty in Hinche, Haiti,” says Steven. “I look forward to helping COHH continue and sustain its mission to help children of severe poverty with their education.”
Steven began his career in real estate managing buildings in Harlem and Washington Heights. He later managed a portfolio of commercial and residential properties in Greenwich Village, the Lower East Side and Meatpacking District neighborhoods. While working as a property and asset manager, Steven attended law school at night, graduated with honors and continued his studies to obtain an LL.M (Master of Law) in taxation from New York University School of Law.
Steven currently serves as a member of the New York City and State Bar Associations. Steven previously served as Chair of the Litigation Subcommittee of the New York City Bar Association, Real Estate Committee, and as a member of the New York City Department of Buildings’ Construction Codes Revision Committee. Steven also serves as a volunteer with Open House New York and in 2023 was recognized for five years of service. Steven previously served as a mentor coach with America Needs You, an intensive two-year program for high-achieving, low-income, first-generation college students. In 2012, Steven was named in Super Lawyers which lists the top 5% of all lawyers in their respective practice areas as nominated by their peers and he has continued to be selected for this honor every year since. Steven currently lives in Harlem, at a property that was formerly an SRO, which he purchased and renovated.
