Here We Go Again – School Is Back In
On September 10, 2018, the Center of Hope (Haiti), Inc. School continued its historic journey to educate the poorest of poor children in Hinche, Haiti. Now entering its eighth year as a school where everyone enters in the first grade and ascends as a class, COHH welcomed 112 children, in grades 1through 8, 6 fulltime teachers and 8 part time teachers. The eighth grade class is now speaking 4 languages and taking advanced math and science courses. They want to be doctors, teachers, engineers, policemen and you name it. They can now have dreams with a real opportunity to make them come true.
We are grateful for our vounteers and our partners who work along with us to create an environment conducive to education. This year, Stan DeFreese and friends provided the labor and equipment to turn the campus into a WiFi zone. Arrow Electronics donated refurbished and equipped laptops for our media center. Yours Humanly donated back packs for all of our children. The First Baptist Church of Conway, SC purchased and plans to install next month a reverse osmosis water system on campus to purify our drinking water. The list continues to grow as we grow.
On November 7th, we will have our 13th Annual Gala in New York city where we will recognize some of our volunteers and tell via video some of the stories of our children. We are inviting everyone to join us during this special time. Those can not be present in person have the opportunity to support our children from afar by visitng our special COHH 2018 GALA secure website and making a donation in an amount appropriate for them. Every donation can help COHH achieve its mission.
