Dinosaurs & Astronomy – Thanks Becky & Sharon
After almost four years with our children, we thought that we pretty much knew all there is to know about them, particularly as it relates to education. However, a short visit from a long-time friend opened the children’s eyes to new adventures never seen or heard of before by the children.
Becky Duff, a nurse from Menasha, WI and Sharon Smith, a respiratory therapist, from Indianapolis, IN paid us a visit earlier this month and brought along with them a couple of education projects for the children. One of the projects was the children’s first introduction to dinosaurs. As with most children, they were very excited to hear about these ancient animals and enjoyed capturing the images on paper.
The other project was astronomy. The children were shown an electronic solar system and taught the names of the various planets. This was their first exploration of space and it was magical. The children now spend more time exploring space using the internet on the note pads donated to them by a members of the First Baptist Church of Conway, SC.
We appreciate the work that Becky and Sharon did in Hinche with infant children at another center. We are glad that we could support their work by providing room and board for their visit. The additional work they did with our children, particularly the dinosaur and astronomy projects, is also very much appreciated by the children and the staff at COHH. Thank you Becky and Sharon for being such an inspiration to our children.
