There is a dearth of trees in Haiti because many of the trees have been harvested over the years for firewood and furniture. At COHH, we have planted citrus trees with the hope of gaining a regular crop of oranges, lemons and grapefruit that can be used in the regular diet of the children. Jenna and Dustin Wadley purchased the plants and oversaw the planting during the Spring of 2011. Today the trees are doing well although we have not as yet harvested any fruit. The picture shows Jenna and Kenel, an orphan from another orphanage, planting a citrus tree.
